Who Makes Daou Cabernet Sauvignon?

Daou Cabernet Sauvignon is produced by Daou Vineyards and was started by brothers Georges and Daniel Daou. Daniel is well known for his extreme focus on perfecting every detail of their business. From using the proper soil, creating the “total vine balance”, and perfecting the best condition to produce wines.

Daniel made one of the first Cabernet clones close to Paso Robles wines that bring out the best qualities of the wine. From a wine region that makes quality wines that can rival Napa Valley, their northern counterparts, for a more affordable price.

Daou Cabernet Sauvignon Review

Look

The wine bottle print showcases their popular vineyard and their original winery on top of the hill in Paso Robles. On the glass, the wine has a ruby to almost purple-like color.

Aroma

This wine has the smell of currant, blackberry, licorice, vanilla, cherry, and hints of oak.

Taste

On the palate, I can taste some black currant, cherry, chocolate, vanilla, and dark fruits. There are also some fresh herbs in there which creates a hint of earthiness and smoke to the wine.

Finish

The Daou Cabernet Sauvignon has a strong fruity flavor that lingers in the mouth effortlessly. It’s dry, full-bodied, and has medium tannins. Additionally, it has a nice and balanced finish.

Where to Buy?

The Daou Cabernet Sauvignon is available at Safeway, Bevmo, Target, Total Wine, Vivino, Drizly, and other wine retailers. Its price is around ~$20 – $30, but it would depend on where you buy it.

When it is available for purchase, we found that Costco has the best price at $19.89. It doesn’t last long at Costco though, this is a very popular red wine.

Also we found that Trader Joe’s sells this bottle at $19.99, but again it doesn’t last long.
