Meiomi Pinot Noir - WineO Mark Review

Meiomi Pinot Noir

One of the most reviewed wines on Vivino (with over 141K+). And, Meiomi Pinot Noir even has their own commercial on TV. Not to mention, in 2017, over 1.1 million cases were sold!

Most people who drink wine have heard about it, seen it, or have tried it. Therefore, it’s almost impossible not to experience one or the other.

And from their commercial, they say, “crafted like no other, taste like no other.” But I believe it should be more like: The taste of this wine is crafted for everyone to enjoy!

Quick Facts About Meiomi

  • Meiomi means “coastal” in Wappo, which is the language spoken by the indigenous people of Northern California.
  • Started by the Wagner Family of Wines, Joe Wagner. His father started Caymus Vineyards in Napa. And if you know me, if it’s a Wagner Family wine, it’s a great wine! However, it was sold to Constellation Brands (a large company that owns countless wineries and brands) for $315M in 2015.
  • Launched in 2006, and “Sideways” helped in the big boom of this wine. After the movie, Pinot Noir became in demand, and Meiomi was there for the taking, an affordable and accessible CA Pinot option.
  • Also, the official wine of the PGA Tour

My Meiomi Pinot Noir Review

Mass-produced and highly accessible (sold in almost every store that sells wine) aren’t usually what people want when they look for the “best wines”.

People want to hear it’s: limited production, boutique, estate-only, and only bought at the winery.

That being said, I believe Meiomi Pinot Noir is a solid wine. I’ve have enjoyed this wine many times and it can only be categorized as a an easy-drinking, smooth, fruit-forward wine (new world) without much complexity.  Above all, you can find it anywhere!
