There are many health benefits of red wine. So DRINK red wine EVERYDAY in MODERATION!
For many, including me, nothing compares to a relaxing glass of red wine at the end of a long day.
AND if you don’t know already, there are countless health benefits of red wine. Though researchers do not fully understand all the reasons why or how the benefits of red wine are so effective, it is widely accepted that adding red wine to your diet can improve your life and health.
From helping your heart to helping you achieve your fitness goals and many things in between, here are the top 7 health benefits of red wine! Remember, the benefits of red wine are most potent when you drink in MODERATION.
So I’m highlighting this word MODERATION for a reason.
One of the most frequent questions I would be asked at our events, “Hey Mark, Is wine really good for me?” They would ask this question with the biggest smile on their face. I could sense they wanted me to say the more red wine the better!
But instead, I would always tell them “Yes, there are many health benefits of red wine… HOWEVER you MUST drink in MODERATION”
This is because red wine is rich in special antioxidants known as polyphenols, the moderate consumption of which is associated with a lower risk of heart disease. Red wine has also been shown to protect your arteries and prevent blood clots.
In a study examining 20,000 women over a decade, researchers found that women who drank a glass of wine every day were less likely to put on weight.
Improved digestive health is one of the lesser-known benefits of red wine. Researchers believe that red wine is beneficial for your large intestine, particularly the bacteria lining. Remarkably, red wine can decrease the amount of bad bacteria in your colon and intestinal tract while increasing the amount of good bacteria.
So this red wine benefit is a huge plus for me personally because my family history puts me at risk for diabetes in the future. The polyphenol found in red wine can help manage your blood sugar which can decrease your risk of developing diabetes.
Red wine is considered to be an effective way to raise your levels of good HDL cholesterol while decreasing bad LDL cholesterol levels. HDL cholesterol is good for you because it metabolizes bad cholesterol, which helps lower your risk of stroke, heart disease, and more.
Sometimes I drink a glass of wine before bed and many others also drink red wine for its relaxing effects.
Some studies suggest that a daily glass of red wine is good for managing anxiety and depression thanks to the resveratrol found in red wine. Resveratrol can protect against stress hormones in your body that cause anxiety and depression.
Thirty (30) minutes of cardio OR a glass of red wine???
This may be a little far-reaching, but an unbelievable claim backed by scientific studies is that drinking a glass of wine can be as beneficial as one hour of exercise. The resveratrol in red wine is linked to increasing heart and muscular strength and can help improve joint health.
These are just some of the many health benefits of red wine. Of course, there are countless benefits of red wine that are not related to health, including that it’s DELICIOUS.
Ok now let’s check out some red wines for you to drink to be more healthy!
